Jesus Christ runs the universe not chance!
Colossians 1:16-17 For by Him (Jesus Christ, v.15) were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible,, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: 17 And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist [or hold together].

He upholds all things by the word of his power
Hebrews 1:3  Who (Jesus Christ)…upholding all things by the word of his power…”

He rules over chance and randomness
Proverbs 16:33 The lot is cast into the lap, but the decision is wholly from the LORD.(RSV)

He rules in “the kingdom of men”
Daniel 4:17 This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.

Nature is subject to Jesus Christ
Mark 4:39,41 And He (Jesus) arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

God originally made everything GOOD!
Genesis 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

The earth was cursed due to man’s sin
Genesis 3:17 God said, “Cursed shall be the ground (the earth) because of you…”

All of nature groans and travails even to now
Romans 8:20, 22 For the creation was subjected to vanity, not of its own will, but by reason of him who subjected it, in hope. 22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until [or even to] now.

Everyone has to die of something
Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

The Lord gave and the Lord can take away
Job 1:18-19 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house: 19 And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.  21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD. 22 In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

Let Christ be magnified by your death
Philippians 1:20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

Look for a new heavens and new earth
2 Peter 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Hope only in this life is most miserable
1 Corinthians 15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

Natural Disasters intensify toward the end
Matthew 24:3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” 7For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers [various] places 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows [or “birth pangs” Nasb].

The entire planet shall be shaken catastrophically
Luke 21:25-27 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

The first natural disaster was the judgment of God
Genesis 6:17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.

God uses the forces of nature to bring judgment on people
Exodus 9:23 And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven: and the LORD sent thunder and hail…25 And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and brake every tree of the field.

Deuteronomy 11:16-17 Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them; 17 And then the LORD’S wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you.

Revelation 6:12 And I beheld when he (the Lamb, Jesus Christ, v.1) had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

Revelation 16:20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.

Natural disasters are warnings for us to repent
Luke 13:1-5 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? 3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?  5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Revelation 16:9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise (“life in the age to come,” 1Jn.2:25), as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish (from “His promise”), but that all should come to repentance.

Longsuffering of our Lord is salvation
2 Peter 3:15 “And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation…”

The salvation for God’s elect
2 Timothy 2:10-12 Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal age-lasting glory. 11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: 12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:

The thousand years
Revelation 20:4 “… they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. “ 1 Peter 1:9 Receiving the end of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

 The soul salvation defined
1 Peter 1:7 “… praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ (“his appearing and his kingdom,” 2Tim.4:1)”
