BEWARE OF CARES OF THIS LIFE

Luke 21:34-36 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life [worries, anxieties of this life], and so that day come upon you unawares [like a trap]. 35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

TAKE CARE OF YOUR SOUL

Deuteronomy 4:9 Onlytake heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons;

YOUR HEART BE NOT DECEIVED

Deuteronomy 11:16-17 Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them; 17 And then the LORD'S wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you.

ISRAEL WAS DISTRACTION

heart Distracted with CARES in the last days

SERPENT BEGUILED EVE

2 Corinthians 11:2-3 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. 3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity [singleness] that is in Christ.

OUR GOAL

1 Thessalonians 1:9-10 … how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; 10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

LORD GOD WILL COME

Isaiah 40:10 Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

IT IS NOT SELFISH TO CARE FOR THE REWARD

Job 7:2 As a servant earnestly desireth the shadow, and as an hireling looketh for the reward of his work:

CARE CAN BECOME A SNARE

CONSIDER THE DAYS OF LOT

Luke 17:28-32 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; 29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. 30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

CARES CHOKE THE WORD

Mark 4:18-19 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, 19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

A GOOD CARE WE NEED TO HAVE

Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Luke 20:35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:

CARE ABOUT THE WORLD TO COME

Mark 10:30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

WHAT SHOULD MY CARE BE IN THIS LIFE?

Matthew 6:31-33 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

MAKES THE MASTER ANGRY

Luke 14:16-21 Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: 17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready. 18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse. MAN WHO DID NOT CARE ABOUT THE WEDDING GARMENT

Matthew 22:11-13 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: 12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. 13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

BE CLOTHED WITH CHARACTER

Job 29:14 I put on righteousness [character] and it clothed me; my judgment [my choices] was like a robe and a diadem.

1 Peter 5:5 ….be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

PUT OFF DIRTY CLOTHES

Colossians 3:8-10 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. 9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

put on NEW CLOTHES

Colossians 3:12-14 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; 13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

The bride maKES her self ready

Revelation 19:7"Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife (the bride) has made herself ready. 8 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.

keep unspotted from this world

James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

1. TAKE NO THOUGHT

Matthew 6:31-33 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

2. BE CONTENT

1 Timothy 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

3. make sure your LEGITIMATE cares are prioritized

Haggai 1:2-5,9 Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD'S house should be built. 3 Then came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying, 4 Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste? 5 Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways. 9 Ye looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the LORD of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house.

4. DON’T BE ATTACHED TO YOUR STUFF

Luke 17:31 In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back. 32 Remember Lot's wife.

Genesis 19:26 But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.

5. KEEP YOUR LIFE AS SIMPLE AS POSSIBLE

1 Corinthians 7:29-30 But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none; 30 And they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not; 31 And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away.

6. LIVE LIKE A SOLDIER OF CHRIST

2 Timothy 2:4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

7. CAST ALL YOUR CARES UPON HIM

1 Peter 5:7 Casting [Aorist, active, participle] all your care upon him; for [because] he careth for you. [Present, Active, Indicative].

BY PRAYER

Philippians 4:6-7 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

GOD CARES

Isaiah 49:14-16 But Zion said, The LORD hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me. 15 Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. 16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

WOMEN choose the good part

Luke 10:38-42 And as they went on, it happened, He also entered into a certain village. And a certain woman, Martha by name, received Him into her house. 39 And to this one was a sister being called Mary, who also was sitting alongside, at the feet of Jesus, and heard His Word. 40 But Martha was distracted about much serving. And coming on she said, Lord, is it not a care to You that my sister left me alone to serve? Then tell her that she should help me. 41 But answering Jesus said to her, Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, 42 But there is need of only one; and Mary chose the good part, which shall not be taken from her.

SINGLE PEOPLE - attend upon the Lord without distraction.

1 Corinthians 7:34-35 …. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: ….. 35 ….. and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.

8. WATCH AND PRAY ALWAYS

Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
