Text: Hebrews 11:1-3
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.
3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

The just shall live by faith
Hebrews 10:38 Now the just [or righteous - the obedient] shall live by faith: but if any man draw back [stop living by faith - disobedient], my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

Those who have faith obtain life
Hebrews 10:39 But we are not those who draw back [who cast away their confidence in the promised reward v.35-36] and are destroyed, but those who have faith and obtain life.  (HCSB)
