John 1:45–47

45 Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

46 And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!

He is a blessed man

A true Jew

Sincerity is of vital importance

A person full of guile

Be honest in the little things of life

Luke 16:10 (ESV) “One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.

Guile seeks to cover the truth

Matthew 26:4 (YLT) and they consulted together that they might take Jesus BY GUILE, and kill him,

Nathanael sought the truth and spoke the truth

John 1:49 Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

We should speak truth to each other

Ephesians 4:25 (NKJV) Therefore, putting away lying [falsehood], “Let each one of you SPEAK TRUTH with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another.

144,000 – no guile found in their mouths

Revelation 14:4–5 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. 5 And IN THEIR MOUTH WAS FOUND NO GUILE: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

Jesus had no guile!

1 Peter 2:21–22 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

He spoke the truth

To be without guile is to be pure in heart

The righteous life is without guile

1 Peter 3:10–12 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him REFRAIN his tongue from evil, and his lips that they SPEAK NO GUILE: 11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. 12 For the eyes of the Lord are over THE RIGHTEOUS, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
